2 Inch to 1.5 Inch Reducer (Aluminum)

The 2 inch to 1.5 inch reducer was made to increase the heat output of the heat muff on an RV-4. In cold conditions there was insufficient heat in the cabin. However when we reduced the scat tube from 2 inch to 1.5 inch, the air was retained in the muff long enough to heat sufficiently and deliver good volume.

2 Inch to 1 Inch Reducer (Stainless Steel)

The 2 Inch to 1 Inch reducer was built for the RV-10 to route 1 inch scat tube around the Andair valve in the consol. It is made of stainless steel because it has been assembled from parts we already make for the heater bypass valve and firewall penetration kit, it is light, has bolt holes to mount it, and is inexpensive.

Over the years we have seen failure of the rivets that hold the exhaust heat shield to the mounting bracket. The solution was to spot weld the stainless steel mounting bracket to the stainless steel heat shield thus eliminating the possibility of rivet failure. Adding additional spot welds insures reliability. They are offered in two sizes, 2 inch and 4 inch to cover most applications
