Our axle extensions have been designed to be the most reliable ones available. Machined from solid 6061T6 aluminum bar on CNC equipment, they are not cross drilled for the cotter key. The reasoning is simple. When cross drilled before assembly, the bolt has to be tightened, then loosened until the hole lines up. This does not keep the extension tight and the bolt can fatigue causing failure. We suggest you tighten the bolt with "Loctite" and cross drill after tightened.
